Innovation galore at Speedy Services exhibition

Last week Speedy Services hosted an 'Innovation Day' in association with Gatwick Airport Ltd and I've never seen as many new and innovative products under one roof!

Over 20 of Speedy's suppliers including Leica Geosystems, Milwaukee and Reid Lifting, set up shop at Gatwick's Hilton Hotel and displayed a selection of their new, innovative and sustainable products.

As the exhibition was also a sneak preview of products that are to be featured in Speedy's 2014 Product Handbook (available in the New Year), I couldn't wait to see what was on show.

Morris Site Machinery introduced me to Solar-2, which is the UK's first solar powered lighting tower and Belle Group presented the 'Belle Warrior,' the virtually indestructible wheelbarrow.

Pop Up Products showed me how easy it is to erect and dismantle its MiTOWER - the world's first one person aluminium tower, while EDX explained the merits of its EM12 Low Profile Mag Drill, which is lightweight and compact, for use in constricted spaces.

Peli's 'Pelican 9435 Remote Area Light' is the world's only battery powered safety approved remote area light, while Firefly Solar's Pyxis Portable Hybrid Generator guarantees "no fuel, no fumes and no fuss."

As the day drew to a close, I stepped outside to gain first hand experience of the Master XL6 - a brand new type of infrared oil heater delivering heat fast and exactly to the place where it is required without any air movement - on such a cold day it was definitely one of my favourites!

A great day was had by all and I'm looking forward to see what Speedy's next innovation day will bring!
